Help Support the Family of Fallen Firefighter Michael Davidson - posted 3/27/2018

FDNY Firefighter Michael Davidson of Engine Company 69 was killed in the line of duty on March 23, 2018. The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation has pledged $100,000 to help pay off the remainder of his family’s mortgage. Davidson came from a family of firefighters, including his father, a retired FDNY veteran of 26 years, Robert, and his brother, an 11-year veteran stationed in the Bronx, Eric. Throughout Michael’s 15-year-long career, he was recognized four times for bravery and life-saving actions. This tragedy is a reminder of the sacrifice heroes like Davidson make every day protecting us. He is the 1,150th FDNY member to have lost his life serving the city of New York in history, and  we’re hoping our efforts provide a small moment of relief to his wife and children in their time of need.

The Siller Family started the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.

The goal of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to continue Stephen’s legacy by supporting our nation’s first responders and service members. Our Smart Home Program, constructs specially adapted, technology-enabled homes for our most catastrophically injured service members and by the end of 2018, we will have constructed 66 of these fully-serviceable homes. From tragedy to hope, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is also there for families of first responders that suffer insurmountable loss. For the children of fallen NYPD Detective Miosotis Familia, their brand new mortgage-free home, funded by the Foundation and its partners, is a symbol of their mother's sacrifice.
Your generosity and support enables us to continue to provide the help the families of our veterans and first responders so desperately need.
